Another AYTO episode, and another week of me shipping Max and Justin harder than I thought possible. Dang.
I mean, just look at them. I really want them to be happy. but I’m nervous they aren’t going to be a match since the group only got one beam in the previous week when these two were sitting together. On that note, let’s just barrel ahead with this recap.
The gang only got one beam of light in this Match Up Ceremony. Their response? Let’s get drunk. They do get to some strategizing while drinking, though. You know, sometimes alcohol helps you think more clearly. Wait, no that’s not a thing.
Amber says the chances of she and Nour being a match are very high, but she’s not very excited about this prospect. She says she was so focused on Nour for so long, and she sees Max and Justin kissing and she wishes that could be their relationship. So see I’m not the only one who thinks Max and Justin are #RelationshipGoals right now.
Amber says she has been really turned off by Nour lately. Same, girl. Same. First, Amber didn’t like that Nour was bullying page, and then of course there was the whole making out with Kari thing. So with that being said, Amber says she doesn’t really feel a romantic connection anymore. But she really wants to see if they’re that beam so she can decide if this is something worth working on or if she can just move on. My vote? Move on, girlfriend. Nour is no good.
Nour is telling everyone that she and Amber need to get into the truth booth so they can find out if they’re that one beam. I love how Nour is trying to act like she’s doing strategy here when really she’s trying to get Amber back. It does make sense though because if Nour and Amber are a match, everyone else from last week was a blackout. I just don’t give Nour that much credit for thinking it out like that (sorry).
What else is happening in the house tonight? Well, Kai and Jasmine are wrestling because this is apparently an acceptable flirtation style. Jenna is looking on all upset, but girl KAI IS NOT YOUR MATCH. Over it.
Let’s check in on Max and Justin. They’re both feeling kind of down because it seems like no one else in the house believes in them, and everyone thinks Nour and Amber where the only beam from last week, not them. They’ve got a very us-against-the-world vibe going on.
The go to the Boom Boom Room. Just the two of them.
Challenge Time! Amber says if she can get in the Truth Booth and find out Nour isn’t her match, she can finally get rid of Nour. That’s definitely the way you want to be talking about your perfect match, right?
I can’t really explain this challenge. They have to pop balloons with their bodies to find a code to unlock the padlock to their heart or something. It’s all just a ploy to get them to smash their bodies together, of course. Max and Justin are using their strong pecs to burst balloons. They say, “We do have the nicest tits in the house, and that goes for every gender.” I can’t remember which one said this because now they’re Maxandjustin. Oops.
The winners are: Kylie and Carrie, Justin and Max, and Basit and Remy. So clearly Basit and Remy are going to get voted into the Truth Booth. JK.
Night time = party time, and Kai and Jasmine are flirting hardcore. And by flirting, I mean they’re naked in the shower together. Clearly they don’t give AF if anyone walks in on them because they leave the door unlocked, and poor unsuspecting Paige walks in and sees them hooking up. Jenna almost walks in on them too, but Paige pulls her away. Jenna is… not happy.
Jenna says, “I think I’m starting to realize I need to shed this whole part of myself… I always say I thrive in drama, but this is too much for me.”
In another part of the house, Aasha is taking a moment and she realizes, hey, maybe that fivesome was a bad idea. In fact, she says, "This whole five some situation is whack and lame and it’s not me.” She’s realizing she’s not really connecting with anyone in the house, and she’s wondering if she and Brandon might be a match. This is what I’m saying. Why is everyone sleeping on Brandon? He seems cool.
Let’s move on to the next day. It’s time for the date, ok? While the three couples are off on their date, everyone’s arguing about whether to vote Max and Justin or Carrie and Kylie into the Truth Booth. Kari and Kylie seem like a safe bet because they’ve sat together nearly every week, but also Justin and Max are a strong couple. People feel very strongly in both directions. How will it turn out? We’ll find out after…
The date. Kari has decided Kylie is likely her perfect match, and for that reason it’s worth forgiving her for the fivesome mess and giving this relationship a real shot.
Justin and Max are also forgiving and forgetting when Justin made out with Aasha last week. Justin says, “I want you to know there’s a reason I did the things I did. It stems from my past.” He tells the story of his mom ditching him. It’s still really sad.
Max says he can’t wait to be that person for him and be there for him. He tells Justin he’ll never hurt him. OTP.
And that’s pretty much what happened on the date. We get very little of Basit and Remy because we know they’re not going into the Truth Booth. Who is going in the booth though? It’s Kylie and Kari.
How do the couples feel about this? Well…
That about sums it up, doesn’t it? Kylie and Kari are excited. Justin and Max are bummed because, again, this suggests that the house doesn’t believe in them. Also they’re probably ready to be away from the drama and just cuddle up for a few weeks in the honeymoon suite. Those two lovebirds!
Anyway, let’s cut to the chase. Kylie and Kari are not a match. It’s a shocker. The house is shook. Remy, who is apparently the biggest Justin and Max stan besides me, is all like, “I told you so, bitches.”
Next up: Dr. Frankie comes in and says “all the sudden,” so I immediately don’t believe she’s actually a doctor. I’m kind of not in on this whole Dr. Frankie bit, y’all. I don’t really see what she’s adding to the show. I really didn’t take any notes on this section of the episode, because I really don’t care about her. Thank U, Next.
Match Up Ceremony. Get ready. Shit’s about to get shaken up.
Kylie picks Jenna.
Nour picks Amber. Clearly Terrence J is not a fan of this pairing. Terrence is like, “Why do you think the match makers would pair you with a person you’re going to have to give more chances to?” Let me translate. Nour sucks. Get away from her, Amber.
In the biggest WTF moment of all time (including the fivesome), Jonathan picks Justin. HE DOES NOT LIKE YOU, BOO! GIVE IT UP! I hate Jonathan.
Max is pissed. He says, “I think Jonathan is a little bit delusional… the beams will set the truth free.”
Remy is NOT HAPPY his OTP is getting cock blocked. He says, “You’re quite literally following your private parts.”
Max picks Brandon. This is another WTF, but who was Max going to pick when his dude was taken by someone else? Brandon says, “Jonathan picking Justin screws up everything. We both know Max isn’t my perfect match.”
Remy picks Basit.
Kari picks Danny.
Paige picks Jasmine for no clear reason. Paige says she knows Jasmine is feeling Kai, but Paige is “pissed off” because she is having trouble finding anyone to connect with in the house. Sounds… cool?
That leaves Kai and Aasha. Okay then.
Surprise… IT’S A BLACKOUT!
I am not shocked at all. I kind of figured they would have to black out at some point, and these matches seemed really random. At least now we know Amber and Nour are not a match, so BYE NOUR!
I don’t have any one person who stood out for me this week. Just clearly shipping Max and Justin and hoping they’re a beam.
See you next time!
